The government of Venezuela and a union of opposition parties have
decided to go into official talks to put an end to anti-government
demonstrations.
Supporters and opponents of the Venezuelan government have been put to death in demonstration-related violence. Total numbers of deaths count up to 39 at least.
The opposition parties’ union had asked that negotiations should be broadcasted live on radio and television. The talks had been provisionally scheduled for Thursday, said President Nicolas.
The foreign ministers of Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil are supposed to anticipate in the talks.
Nonetheless, the Famous Will party which is in the coalition of MUD opposition expressed disbelief regarding the official talks. Leopoldo Lopez, leader of the party said that they will just be an audience in the talks.
His party said that they wouldn’t join the talks unless Mr. Lopez, who was arrested in February on allegations for stirring violence, was set free.
The demonstrations against government began in early February, with protestors asking for an end to the high crime rate in Venezuela, lack of some staple crops and increasing rate of inflation.
In addition, the protests have grown into a widespread movement and many of the demonstrators say that they won’t end until the present government of Venezuela leaves.
Nevertheless, there are also thousands of people organizing demonstrations in red clothes to support the government of President Maduro. The red color is linked with the Bolivarian revolution.
