Tuesday, 1 April 2014

Six people have been killed in a massive explosion in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, according to government officials.

Numerous people were badly injured in the attack, which took place in the Eastleigh suburb of the city. Eastleigh is considered to be as "Little Mogadishu" because of its large number of Somali population.

Eyewitnesses told devices showed to have been thrown on the way of a bus stop and a food kiosk as people made their way for going home, at the evening.

According to Kenya's Standard newspaper report, the twin blasts went off some 50m (165ft) separately on 11th Street, and some of those caught up in the attack had serious injuries.

“We expect it is a grenade attack," according to the local police officer statement.

In Eastleigh it had seen numerous fresh grenade attacks, including one attack is in last year of December that killed four people.

A week ago six people expired when attacker exploded itself into a church near the Kenyan port of Mombasa and opened fire on parishioners.

Kenya's government has openly ordered to all Somali refugees those living in towns to move into selected camps as a proposal to end the attacks.

Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku said to media reporters that the instruction had been issued because of the emergency security challenges facing by Kenya. The refugee group fated the decision as illegal.

However, no group given the statement about who was behind the latest attack, many are blaming to the Somali militant group al-Shabab.
