
A woman says she was taken out by strangers on a New Jersey street and was taken to an deserted house where she was raped and beaten, and asserted that authorities did not take action against her rape report seriously for many weeks.
The contended victim, who asked to be recognized only as Kris, told that she fell asleep on a bus on December 5 and woke up lost in downtown Trenton. She got down from the bus and tried find her way back to home to Hamilton when a man started to following her. Then after a while everything went black.
She woke up inside a deserted house on Farragut Avenue, on the floor over a mattress, surrounded by garbage and dishes.
She said one of the two men was very violent, repeatedly striking her face and had hand over her mouth.
The offenders finally fled. Kris staggered out onto the street with her jaw broken and bleeding as she tried to speak and cry for help.
She shambled for over mile and eventually staggered into Mario and Frank’s Pizzeria. Owner Frank Colella of the Pizzeria recalls that she in such a terrible state shaking, bleeding and crying.
At the hospital, she went through a rape exam performed by a sexual assault nurse and a police officer took beginning information. Few hours after that, on the morning of December. 6, Kris was released from the hospital and sent home with orders to go see an oral surgeon.
Over the next weeks, her mom and Trenton police were in contact by phone. But Kris and her mother reported that Trenton police did not convene with her in person until December 23, nearly three weeks after the claimed attack.
